Sweet & Bitter Orange Peels

Orange peel seems born for bittersweet chocolate (grapefruit peel is no joke, either!). Little clusters of these in cellophane bags also make beautiful hostess gifts.

Buy premade candied orange peel at a local gourmet shop or at Market Hall Foods. Melt Belgian chocolate (available at Scharffen Berger) in an enamel pot over a low flame, then let cool for a few minutes till it's just warm. Dip candied peels in halfway, and lay them on parchment paper to harden.
