Other Rug Option: Tarnby
I'm not stalling about the kitchen, I swear. There's a contractor coming over on Thursday from the local hardware store to look at the ceiling. In the meantime, I'm spending my tax refund on IKEA rugs. Like this Tarnby (don't the product names there crack you up?). Oh, and I lied about it in my last post. It's jute, not sisal. Emma apparently likes both.
You like in the bedroom? Want me to play switchy and see how the look in the living room? I'll clean it up later today and show you...

I'd go shag in the bedroom (no pun intended)- softer on bare feet in the morning- and sisal in the living room- more durable for traffic.
That was my instinct too.
Scrappy, I think that the sisal is better in the bedroom because of it's natural fiber look next to the tree mural. I also tend to think that you would have more opportunity to enjoy the feel of the shag in the living room.
Trust your instinct.
I like both in the bedroom. Your bedroom looks SO sweet with the mural and the birdcage in the corner.
I ADORE my bedroom right now. I've got to test out the rugs in the living room, but that would mean cleaning it. It's a bloody mess.
I think the shag looks great in the bedroom! The jute looks good too, but a little more ... sober. The shag feels more fun, softer, a little more whimsical; the jute seems a little office-y and correct to me. But that's just me! I tend to go with the whimsy!
Omigod I have to send you a picture of the paint job I did on my office. I wanted it to look purple and stormy and sophisticated ... it looks like a 12 yr old girls bedroom. Yikes!
