Rug Lust

Someone loves me. Well, hopefully more than one person does. But the universe has been really strange the past few days. Today, I got this pitch from a publicist for rugs from Emma Gardner Designs in Lichtfield, CT. Look at this one. Ain't it purty? It even comes in this almost squarish size I've been looking for. Can you see it in my bedroom?

It's fabulous. It's expensive ($11,286 for the 7'6" x 9'9".)

Still want it? (I do....sigh)

Saw that very rug in an ad recently and felt sick with lust....

That is so very lovely.....me want.
Sigh...my dog sheds too much for that, unless black dog hair can work with that pattern somehow.

Anyhow, if you have a moment, check out the bedding at Crate and Barrel - have you seen their "shadow" pattern? It reminded me of your bedroom mural plans. (Not sure if someone already mentioned this....)

Oh, oh oh that one is perfect. I haven't really loved most of the others but that one, mmmm.

it's gorgeous! i luuuurve it.

And thus begins the exercise is possible futility that is aspirational shopping. But wait, maybe The Deal Hunter will get on the case...

It does seem to be just right. If only price didn't matter, sigh.

Have you checked Ebay for rugs? We just purchased a beautiful rug for our dining room for under $200.

You work for Conde-Nast. I'm sure you could grab some random fashionista from Vogue in the lobby and ask her how to call in free samples. (You know there's no other way those girls can afford Marc Jacobs.)

Funny, pt. I'm from the Midwest. I'm not sure I have it in me to do things like that!

Hi there,

I blogged about my lust for the same rug a while back http://mirrormirror.typepad.com/mirror_mirror/2007/06/much_rug_excite.html

and the wonderful Patrick from the company (who I think is Emma Gardner's husband) got in touch with me and offered me a hefty discount, which made it just about affordable.

So I've got it on order(together with a couple of other rugs) and am hoping it will be with me in a couple of months. (It takes 16-20 weeks to produce). He sent me a sample and it is absolutely divine.

Email me if you'd like his contact details ;)

Beautiful!!

Have you looked at overstock.com? They have an extensive rug selection and great prices. Plus customer reviews and reasonable shipping.

Good luck!

Ehh... nix that. Overstock has not impressed me today.
