What Were You Doing July 14th?

2
I wasn't drinking Pastis to celebrate Bastille Day. Nor was I shopping with Kim from Desire to Inspire who went antiquing and got loads of stuff, including this fabulous bench that her kitties love. I am looking for claws but I am seeing none. Do yo hear her complaining about the cats? What's the matter with me? What's the matter with my cats?

July 14? I'm lucky I remember what I had for breakfast! That bench is gorgeous, love the color. And the cats? They do what they want. Mine is right now laying flat against (since I normally have to move him OFF) the keyboard. Don't bother to figure out your cats...they don't care! :-)

I was at the Hopper exhibit at the MFA in Boston on the 14th. Actually some of your color choices make me think of Hopper; that green in your living room especially. The window shades in "Room in Brooklyn" are nearly that same color.

I'm in love with that bench and jealous of her cats...

You CLEARLY don't scream at them loud enough when the claws come out.

I'm kidding (sort of). Thanks for posting my pic!!! And listen, I have 3 more kitties not pictured and the 5 of them don't really scratch my furniture. If I notice them doing it, I tape the area and then they get annoyed and stop. I also scream....LOUD.

I scream loudly as well. Well, I'm more of a yeller than a screamer. A succinct JUST WHAT IN THE HECK DO YOU THINK YOUR'RE DOING?!" at the top of your lungs with a huge stamp of the foot works quite well. Now, all I do is raise my foot to stamp it and they're off to greener pastures.

I don't stomp my foot - I hop up and down while waving my arms wildly in the air....and I don't say "heck" I say something WAY worse.

ha ha ha...I am getting all the kitty training I can get from these comments! Am getting ready to get a kitten, and as part of prep, will practice my scary expressions to scare the claws off!

Kim - you have to post pics of all your 5 cats sometime! :)

i want that bench. badly.

Catherine, your apartment is really coming along nicely!

Thanks! Now I don't feel so bad about screaming at the small animals. i should put them on the bookcase and take pictures of them for my blog like Pink.

Kitties do make great bookends. Babies too. (Bhavna - I have a whole set on Flickr of all the cats...none of all 5 together yet though because one is a newbie)

Do any of you have training tips for dogs? My frenchies kind of look like cats - maybe the tape trick will work for them...
Love the bench. I NEVER find good things like that!

Germi, I can't believe your angels misbehave...

Hi Cathy. That's a really nice bench! My cats would mess that up in heartbeat. That's why we can't have nice things.
In any case, wanna play? I received it from the lovely blog "This is Glamorous"(www.citified.blogspot.com):

Tag! You're it!
Players list 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, players then tag 8 people by posting their names and make sure they know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at the tagee’s blog.

That bench would look excellent in a foyer.

The cats look like they belong on the bench. (And the arrangement looks better than a lot of fake-casual piles of art books no one actually reads.)
