Tall Lamps on Tall Furniture
This lamp is too tall for this file cabinet, right? And it's too tall for this bookcase, right? I was hoping to do this pair of lamps in diagonal corners of the room thing, but doesn't seem to be working. Low tables for these lamps, right?

I think the short lamps are an absolute, and as much as I like the gold lamp (especially the way it reflects on the table!), you need a light fixture over that table.
Yeah, I think you're definitely right about shorter lamps. I do like these for low tables. I was also thinking maybe I should try them beside the bed right on the floor since my bed is just on a box spring right now.
I still think they would look great on each side of your sofa, kind of like in that picture you posted when they were next to your coffee table. They were the perfect size. I think they may be a bit formal and angular for your bedroom though.
I just found that some of these are actually supposed to be floor lamps, like this one, http://www.brasslanternantiques.com/lampwoolums1.htm So no need for a table at all. Cool.
