Pragmatic Post #1: Furniture Moving Advice

Movingmen

A while back, I posted about this magic scratch remover stuff called Tibet Almond Stick that I used to cover up a scratch in my newly refinished wooden floors. Then nikkirose wrote to suggest that instead of covering up mistakes like this in the future, I could avoid them with these furniture moving pads: Moving Men Furniture Sliders. I know they aren't pretty, but I wonder if they're functional. Has anybody tried them? Do they work? Or is there something else that does? Because I'm ready to move things around, but if I scratch the floor again I'm going to cry.

I have used these and they are amazing. Just make sure your floors are clean and they will not cause any scratches--good luck! You can also get them at any ACE hardware store.

I've used a different brand, but I'm sure they work on the same principle, and they make moving furniture an effortless task. I echo the comment above, though: make sure your floor is free of any small particles that could get dragged along on the bottom side of the moving pads.

They work. However, if you are concerned, try them out under a small piece of furniture in a floor area that's not too "public" and that won't produce tears if it gets scratched.
