Computer Murder
Readers, I am so sorry you've been stuck with the image of the lovely lady and gentleman in a field of prosaic marigolds, along with a ranting post, for a week - but I killed my computer by spilling an entire cup of coffee on it. My husband has banished me from his brand new MacBook since I'm so careless (I'm sneaking this post while he's at the gym), and of course I can't blog from Elysian Landscapes - Judy would frown upon that, causing unsightly forehead wrinkles, and I can't be responsible for that.
I'm getting a brand new MacBook of my very own tomorrow, so we can resume our fruitfull relashionship and I can tell Suasoria how much I welcome her chiming in on plant suggestions. That's what a real garden club is like - why not our little forum, too, right?
While I'm getting things back on track, check out the work of one of my heroes, landscape designer Jay Griffith. He's what I want to be when I grow up.
I think probably this post should go on the one about gloves but that's so old I assume you won't find it. I was going to answer a while ago but then I lost my electricity for 24 hours during that wind and forgot about it until I just saw my gloves outside. I finally found a pair I really like & I'm pretty sure they came from OSH. There's a label that says "Stanley." They're on the thin side, which I like and they're stripes & polka dots. And they were cheap. I bought them last fall so I have no idea if they're still there but hopefully they are.

kimk3 - I think I just bought the exact same gloves, and we may be on to something. I'm embarrassed to say that I also purchased a hideously expensive pair of neoprene "garden gloves" that look like they were designed for deep wave surfing - they're selling them at Whole Foods (or Whole Paycheck, since it takes a whole paycheck to buy your groceries there)... what a waste of cash! They snagged on an agave the first time I used them and now there's a huge hole on one finger. I should sue!
Rita - you got me! I grabbed the image from the web... I was looking for "computers killed by coffee", but this was the closest one I could find. I was posting sneakily, and I thought that it would take more time for me to find my camera, set up a replica of the disaster, style it, light it, and shoot it - and then connect my camera to my husbands computer and... well, you get the idea. Although spilling red wine into my computer would be much more glamorous in a 'louche' way, I have to admit to it being plain old Illy Dark Roast Medium Grind.

Now that I have my beautiful tricked out black MacBook, I wonder why I didn't coffee splash my decrepit old white 12" months and months ago!
