Scrappy's Lights
Our own Scrappy Girl is on the hunt for a lighting deal, and like I always say, a web editor-friend in need is a friend indeed. The "green" cooking light she posted definitely has an army hospital chic about it, but for 2 x $195 I'd rather collect the post-consumer product myself. A commenter found a similar option on street in NY for a DOLLAR -- the luck -- and here it is a Lighting by Gregory for $45.50:
You want green? I'll show you green:
This one's my favorite. Trust me, hunter green is not just for Jansports anymore. It's cool again. If Scrap wants a more industrial vibe this 15" Ikea pendant trumps her $65 Home Depot light that looks like the two above. It's $19.99:
But I prefer the old-fashioned lines and black cord on one from Aubuchon Hardware for $42.99 (bad pic):
Cathy, keep us updated on the progress!

These are terrific options, Deal Hunter. I'll let you know what I pick. xx
I LOVE the last one!
me too germi! and you could always lightly sand and paint the outside any color under the rainbow!!
I had two white ones from IKEA that were almost identical to the top white one, but with a blue rim around the lip. The aluminum ones you listed from IKEA are so flimsy, and they don't look that good in real life. Maybe for a work shed or something, though.
sheesh, you're talented at this whole "finding good cheap things quickly" thing.
I found this one at CB2: http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=120&f=3788. Its called the Puddle Pendant Lamp but sleep white and Jetson looking for a mere $19.95.
oh, i saw that one too. cute! too mod for you, cathy?
I found a great post on LoftLife Magazins's blog about industrial pendent lights that could be helpful:

I think the Puddle Pendant Lamp is too mod, yeah. I love that last one still. Was just fretting that it's silver and not white. But I suppose I *could* paint it. I've been waiting a month for the contractor and I'm sort of so fed up I want to start doing everything myself. Impulsive and impatient, these are my middle names.
