Needle-pointers
I'm loving photographer Matt Albiani's beach house and NYC pad in the new issue. (Note to domino: 600 square feet is NOT 'tiny' by West Village standards!) It's as if the man lives in Freemans, hopefully minus the hour and a half wait to sit down. Scale is key: follow the chunky sofa to the simple eating-height coffee table down to the curvy slipper chair and art (is that a boogie board I spy?) propped on the floor in the corner. Yet what I'm really digging is his mom's trippy needlepoint pillow, the only color in the room. Jonathan Adler has brought these back in a big way but his "granny chic" is still pretty mod. I prefer unreconstructed old lady:
$95 for the King of Spades at top, $120 for the Porgy Fishy (love these colors!!), both from The Well Appointed House ... which I found thanks to the mag.

I'm interested in a needlepoint pillow with the likeness of Thomas Jefferson on it. If any of your talented pointers can point me in the right direction, I'd be ever so grateful.
oooh, that's an interesting request. i'm looking for a jimmy carter needlepoint, so i'll keep an eye out ;-)
Whoa. You and I are the same in a strange way. Good luck with Carter!
Ha! The "note to Domino" cracked me up. I am with you... that kind of sq footage sounds almost palatial in NYC... you know, if you're not running the Candy Nasty publishing empire or running a hedge fund or whatever it is certain people do in NY to make over $80mil a year.
