This Marimekko wall hanging makes me wish I still had an oregano green apartment:
Sigh. Cute though, right? $39.95 at CB2 and it's 57" x 36" - a nice scale. I'm not sure I'd pay $24.95 for hanging hardware though. I'd rather buy two and hang them on the vertical with canvas stretchers or just part of one to weigh it down. And while we're on the subject of fruits (ahem), who went and changed the Juicy Fruit logo? Hmm?? I thought bubble letters went out with the first Bush administration.

I loved the oregano green apartment! What color is it now?
sadly i don't know -- i moved out! boooo hooooo. my new place is not so grand ... but it has potential. and a separate bedroom, yippee!!

I love those hangings. I was originally with you that $25 is a lot for the hanging stuff, but my in-house handyman said that all that stuff separately would be about that price.
oh, KatieKat, you'll just have to wait and see! since i'm a such a militant DIY-er please give it about 18 months. i bet your in-house is right about the fancy hardware ... but doesn't he have some spare lumber and a few screws lying around?
Love the green paint color...but what about that gorgeous mantle... where did you get that?
that came with the apartment! it was love at first sight -- it had high-relief cherubs and a lion's head plus a florentine-looking man i named pablo. apparently the building was a flophouse for wealthy businessmen in the late 1800s?? seems fitting.
I also love the green and want to do my living room in that color. It has high ceilings but the fireplace is not as ornate. What other color could I paint the fireplace other than white? (I love colors and am not not afraid to use them).
