OldPhoneWorks

Before I went home for the holidays (known in my family as the Seven Days of Starches) I heard about a website called oldphoneworks from fabulous clients who apparently hate the look of new telephones as much as I do.  This place sells hundreds of new and used phones and phone parts (they have an entire "orange" category!), some for as little as $12.95, like this Golden Eagle Trimstyle in red and green:

No, these aren't retrofitted for multiple lines and intercoms and buzzers but one might be perfect in a guest bedroom (or anywhere that's not Command Central or a Panic Room).

Awe.some. I have been scouting vintage wall phones for the kitchen for months--I just can't decide on a color! We have one of those old wall jacks and nowhere nearby to plug in a power cord, so old-style it is. I actually prefer them; aren't all cordless phones pretty crappy at the end of the day?

AT&T Trimline, Model 210. Very close to what you show here. I have 'em in black. They are the little black dress of phones.

agreed, pt: black is back, is the new black, and then some! kate i agree that cordless phones stink. just wish the wall-mounted ones came with a more pleasing ringer.

i have been w/out a house phone for the last 5 years, however, i have always coveted the portable (sorry) phone that Carrie Bradshaw has on SATC. its the sturdy, simple, white one, that stands up on the base. it has the little part that sticks out at the bottom...my best friends mom had one when i was growing up-- i think it was one of the first portable phones, or at least one of the first attractive ones.

anyway, i know i'm the odd girl out, but i love it and i can't find one ANYWHERE!
