Giraffe Runner
One of my pet peeves is unrealistic animal print. I know it's fun to take a little creative license but with some of the rugs and fabrics out there it seems like no one's ever seen an actual zebra! These wool flatweave rugs from The Company Store make a good comparison:
The zebra is way too loopy-goopy for my taste and has no visible spine, but the giraffe has a crisper variation. A 9-foot runner is $129 -- wouldn't one look nice on a back staircase or narrow hall?

Zebra print is used so often, it would be nice to see giraffe spots used well. There are so many different types of giraffes- there could be a wide range of colors and patterns, offering a little more authenticity.
I actually just wrote an odd little piece on the use of giraffes in design, though I was thinking more of giraffe forms- I haven't seen the print used too often.

Hey Deal Hunter, speaking of carpets, help a fellow former Pensacolian out! You know the Moroccan rug shown in Barrie Benson's living room--the shag with the diamond pattern? I see those a lot and I'd love one, but I don't want to fork over the dough for the real vintage article. Have you come across any lookalikes in your travels?
