The Museum of Useful Things
Just before I get stuck into all things Californian, which is going to be a lot easier since you have all offered so much good advice, I wanted to add another Cambridge,MA source. The Museum of Useful Things was a store I loved, but we didn't have time to get to Cambridge to shoot any shops so it won't make the Boston story. This was one of my favorite stops there, along with its sister store Black Ink. I loved this stapler and all the perfectly ordinary and rather old-fashioned paper clips they sell. If you are into good ordinary design, then this is a must-go-to shop.

Hi Rita, Love your blog! I hope I'm not too late posting this, but I have a quick question about the photo of you in your apartment featured on page 37 of the latest issue of Domino. I noticed a large framed print to the right of you with the letters LO. What is the print exactly and do you know who made it? I quite like it, and there's something so familiar about it. Thanks in advance and great work on your blog. I've been reading it pretty much since the beginning, but this is my first time saying hello.
YES, isn't that place awesome? For such a small shop you can spend a crazy amount of time looking at everything...
That picture spells LOVE, I brought it from england, but I am sure you can get them here. Although I didn't know it at the time of purchase, it is by a girl I know called Rosie Bamford. I will try and find out where you can get them. I got mine at The Cross in notting hill, london. It was about £150.
Thanks so much Rita. I thought it spelled Love! If you ever find a good resource for her work, please do post when you have the chance. Thanks again!
