Painted Floors
I have had this page from a magazine so long I can't even remember the publication, so I am afraid I can't credit it. But I LOVE this floor and am about to do a bathroom floor like this in a job that I am doing. I just wanted to put it up as I think it is a great idea and an alternative to painting the floor one color or having a break from an all wood floor.

Hi Rita, I remember that room as well....It was in Cottage Living magazine.
I love the look of painted/stained and plain wood.

I'm so glad that you featured this because I'm debating whether or not to rip up my hideous living room carpet and try something like this!Think I will give it a go...
Definately try it. let me know how it goes. the only thing is it is quite technical doing the squares so make sure you mark them out properly before you start! Good luck.
yep it was cottage living - i saved the issue and also loved the floor; it was great. although most of his home was fancier than that quote ("i'm just a khaki pants white shirt kind of guy) would have you believe : )
