CB2 Small Lights
I've been in need of a new overhead light in my kitchen for about, say, eight months now. My $40 yellow half-globe pendant from a Panama City antique mall refuses to come back to life, so instead of buying a new hanging fixture or flush mount, I just stuck a white ginger jar table lamp on top of the fridge and called it a day. I don't cook, but summer's here and I need more light while operating the blender. Margaritas Grandes! What do you think of these options from cb2 ?
I really love the eclipse pendant lamp at top but it's a bit small (9" diam.) and I only have one electrical box (these would look great in multiples). Same issues with the silo pendant. But both are less than 30 bucks! I wish the folks on "Flip This House" and all those shows would jump on simple, anonymous fixtures like these -- even if the material is crappy they still look way more expensive than three Alexander Hamiltons. Also wish Home Depot et al would copy the eclipse style in every size and color.

Try one of those collapsible paper lanterns. Urban Outfitters used to sell these great kits, which had the cord, socket, frame, and folding lantern in various patterns. If they don't have those anymore, check out Chinatown.
Have you tried Ikea? They have several pendants that are a great price and great design.
What about the Lampel. A planter and lamp by BSweden.
i think i want something sturdier than paper, but i will check all these out and report back. thanks folks!
i too have thought about these eclipse from cb2 lights in my kitchen. i was thinking of getting a handyman/ electrician to meld them together and use them on the one outlet from my ceiling. it is all about wiring - can't see why it wouldn't work!
It's really a simple thing to rewire a lamp. I've done it several times, as well as made my own lamps. Martha Stewart's site has easy instructions how to do it.
