sprinkles cup cake mix
Since writing about Sprinkles in LA, I have found this, their very own cupcake mix. It's available at Williams Sonoma, and it comes in a few flavours--lemon, dark chocolate, red velvet (above) and vanilla. Cleona, who commented on the Sprinkles post, has been to the store and made the mix. She says they are top notch, so we can now have them at home while we wait for a store to open near us.

I really adore the design of this. So gorgeous to have it on view in the kitchen alone!
i am so pleased to see that someone else does this apart from me! and really pleased that you like the design so much emilia! xx
great way to parlay this very popular cottage industry into something larger. I love the art direction of the packaging.
Whoops a daisy- i did not mean to say that three times. But i do buy things for the poackaging all the time. They say never judge a book by it's cover- and i do subscribe to that- but sometimes if you do you can discover something truly lovely!
A little slow on the uptake - Williams Sonoma has been carrything the cupcake mix for several months now ... but better late than never! A word to the wise: each tube of mix only makes a dozen cupcakes! But they are SO worth it. I made them for the office; I baked them for less time than called for, and didn't put on quite so much frosting, and everyone agreed they were better than the real Sprinkles cupcakes! Also of note, a second LA Sprinkles will be opening soon on La Cienega two blocks north of The Beverly Center!
emilia - i judge every book by its cover and more often than not it works pretty well. in our book club we even have a moment dedicated to the 'shallow book review' where we critic the cover and author photograph....And Scott you surely have a blog - do share your address so we can check it out, you know so much!
When Sprinkles opened up in Bev Hills, I waited in line for over thirty minutes. When I finally got to the counter, everything was gone-yeah bummer! Oh, wait a moment, a fresh batch of red velvet cupcakes were being brought to the counter! It was amazing foodie moment. Super yum! I'm glad that the company is doing so well! Cheers to good eating!

I'm late to the party but someone brought in cupcakes from the new Dallas store and we all succumbed to sugar overload. It was a party in the mouth.
Thanx so much for the tip - there is a Williams & Sonoma five minutes from here so I'm blasting out at lunch to get them.
Just found your site and blog. Excellent excellent job!
Hey ritakonig, great idea about the 'shallow book review' in your book club. I'll try it out next time on my club.
Thanx!
am so pleased you like it, the combination of cupcakes and judging books by their covers and author photographs is such a good (in a bad way or is it bad in a good way) mix.
THIS STUFF isnt bad, I prefer just getting the cupcakes already made though. Much more convenient!
