Cheese and Honey
I often forget about the deliciousness of cheese and honey until I am somewhere where they serve it like this. Yesterday I was having lunch at The Blue Ribbon Bakery in NY, and a friend of mine ordered some cheddar at the end of lunch. It arrived with some slices of deliciously fresh white bread (a proper country loaf), and a small ramekin of thick honey. Wow it was good. It reminded me of the Spanish who serve quince jelly with Manchego. It's the perfect combination of savory and sweet. For good cheeses go to Murray's Cheese shop or Zingermans, where you will also find good breads, including a white paesano.

Beautiful! The most memorable meal from a trip to the Netherlands some years ago was a sandwich of somewhat aged goat cheese swimming with honey and a sprinkling of fresh thyme on sourdough. It's just as divine on baked (and halved) delicata squash.

Ooh, this is one of my favorite combos. Yum! A really easy little light dessert is sliced ricotta salata (oh yum) drizzled with honey and sprinkled with a few toasted walnuts.

Chedder with thick molasses is delicious also! I used to eat it at my grandma's house in the country
Oh my goodness! One of my favorite treats is gouda with fig jam - but I'd never heard of cheese with honey! It is delicious; my 5 year old daughetr LOVES it (expensive snack!)! How do you serve it? Is it dessert?
it is not a desert, any hard cheese pretty much is good, serve it as you would a snack, or with cheese at the end of lunch or dinner. A runny honey is best, an acacia or something.
